The FNB Stadium is the third-biggest football arena in the world and the largest in Africa, with a capacity of 94 736.
It was built in 1989 and upgraded ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup – the first on African soil.
It is followed by the Borg El Arab stadium in Egypt, which has a capacity of 86 000. The arena was supposed to be the flagship stadium for Egypt's 2010 World Cup, but the North African nation famously lost out to South Africa.

Stade des Martyrs in DR Congo is the third-largest arena on the continent, boasting a capacity of 80 000, although unofficial reports suggest that it can even reach a crowd of 100 000.
