The Red Castle were unable to return to winning ways in the league following their 0-0 draw against Renaissance Zemamra on Monday evening.
While the result means that the record league champions remain unbeaten in their last seven matches, it means Mokwena's charges in third position with the two teams right behind them, AS FAR Rabat and Raja Club Athletic, having played a game less.
Another team which has played a game less than Wydad are Botola Pro table toppers RS Berkane. The Orange Boys are currently nine points adrift of the league leaders, but the Johannesburg native is confident that his side will also be in contention to win the Moroccan topflight soon enough.
After the draw against Zamamra, as per El Botola, the former Mamelodi Sundowns head coach said: "If you watch the team's performance today, we struggled away from home but didn't get enough points away from home.
"We didn't play enough away games with our fans to help us and support us to give us a boost. We struggled a bit on the road, and our home performances were excellent.
"If someone had told me, we will be third or fourth in the standings, in the middle of the season with 36 new players, new management and a new coach, I would have said we are on a good way, but we are winners and we want to achieve more than that.

"We want to achieve more, to compete for the title. We want to win the championship, of course I don't know how long it will take us to win the championship, but we will do it, I can guarantee you that, because this is a very good team, you can watch the last two games."
