The 30-year-old has only featured 11 minutes for Al Ahly in the Egyptian Premier League this season, which suggest he is no longer in coach Marcel Koller's plans.
However, former Red Devils star Ahmed Adel a departure could be on the cards in January and has backed the club to find a good replacement.
"It is difficult for Percy Tau to continue with Al Ahly and become confrontational with the technical staff," Mohamed told ONTime Sports per El Balad.
"There are players who always maintain a relationship with the technical director, and the player's days are numbered.
"I believe that he will leave in January with a high probability.
"Al Ahly will certainly choose good players in January, and there will certainly be new players. Any player contracted must participate as a starter."
