Pep Guardiola Makes Decision On Barcelona Return

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has confirmed his stance over a potential return to Barcelona, with whom he won two UEFA Champions League titles between 2008 and 2012.

With only one year left on his deal in England, and reports suggesting he might not sign an extension at the Citizens, questions over the future of the 53-year-old's managerial career remain.

Guardiola, a former Barcelona player and captain, etched his name into the team's history books following his four-year spell in charge of the Catalans, during which he claimed a staggering 14 trophies.

Supporters have long imagined a world in which the legendary Spanish tactician returns to the club for a second stint, but the City manager has closed the door on going back to work for the LALIGA giants again.

"Yes, door closed," he said, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano in quotes carried by Barca Universal.

After beginning his reign at Barcelona with a surprise 1-0 league defeat to Numancia, Guardiola silenced critics as he went on to win the treble in his first season as head coach.

In a 2-0 win over Manchester United in Rome, a Lionel Messi-inspired Barca claimed the Champions League to close off an incredible debut campaign for the Spaniard, who lifted the trophy again two years later in England.

Guardiola has since worked in Germany at Bayern Munich and for City in the Premier League, and he has established himself as one of the game's greatest-ever managers.
