Osimhen was the Super Eagles' top scorer in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with ten goals in six matches.
Instead of calling up another striker, Nigeria head coach Finidi George has decided to call-up Rangers left-back Kenneth Igboke instead.
The Super Eagles can still call upon Victor Boniface, Ademola Lookman and Kelechi Iheanacho for the important qualifiers next month.
Nigeria started their qualifying campaign with back-to-back draws against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
