The Portuguese tactician masterminded a CAF Champions League semi-final victory over Mamelodi Sundowns last season shortly after taking over the Taraji, as he led them back to a continental cup final two months after taking over.
While he was unable to lift Africa's premier club cup competition trophy, losing to Al Ahly, he did win the Tunisian league during the 2023/24 campaign.
Expectations were high heading into the new season, but club executives at the Blood and Gold were unhappy with the way their title defence got underway and five games into the 2024/25 Ligue Professionnelle 1, Esperance decided to part ways with Cardoso.
Plenty of names have since been linked with the position, but their search for a new manager has now come to an end after the Beast of Africa confirmed the appointment of Romanian Laurentiu Reghecampf.
This will be the 49-year-old's first experience coaching on the African continent, though he has coached in the gulf region before.
Like Pitso Mosimane, Reghecampf has taken the reins of clubs such as Al Ahli in the Saudi Pro League. as well as Emirati side Al Wahda.

A player who will be hoping to gain momentum is Mokwana. Six out of the seven appearances the Bafana Bafana winger has made for his new club have been from the bench, but in the club's most recent 2-0 win over Etoile Sportive du Sahel, he managed to open his account for the north African giants.
