On Thursday, African football's governing body finally revealed the final three players competing for the 2023 Interclub Player of the Year, a list that includes Pyramids FC forward Fiston Mayele.
The 29-year-old is up against fellow Egyptian Premier League star Tau, who represents Al Ahly in north Africa, and Sundowns talisman Peter Shalulile.

CAF also named the three footballers up for the main award, the African Player of the Year prize, and there was no room for Al Nassr and Senegal superstar Sadio Mane, who has struggled in recent months in Saudi Arabia.
His former Liverpool teammate, Mohamed Salah, has made the cut, though, along with Morocco and Paris Saint-Germain fullback Achraf Hakimi, and Napoli and Nigeria's Victor Osimhen.
