For the first time since the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, the Norton native will represent the Warriors. The 2010/11 Premier Soccer League Golden Boot winner called time on his international career after the continental showpiece, but head coach of the national team Michael Nees has successfully managed to get him to reconsider.
The 35-year-old is now in camp with his compatriots, preparing for their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Benin and Nigeria. He opened up about the current state of the Zimbabwean national team after a three-year absence from the setup.
"The training was good and I saw a lot of quality, which makes me to think that the future of the Warriors is bright," the Saudi Pro League forward said, as per Soccer24.
"I just hope that I will help these youngsters and contribute to their development."
Nees' charges are currently last in Group C of the qualification standings, but Musona claims that their fortunes could change in their upcoming matches.
"In football, everything is possible, and I think it starts with this game that is coming," the ex-Augsburg man added.
"The most important thing is to collect maximum points in this coming game and try to go and collect some points in Nigeria.
"But for now, I think the focus has to be on Benin, which I believe with this quality we will be able to collect maximum points."

Musona is the latest high-profile returnee to the Zimbabwean national team as another former Kaizer Chiefs star in Khama Billiat made a u-turn on his decision to retire late last year.
