Gabon international Aaron Boupendza is no more after he allegedly fell from his apartment, with police now believed to be treating the incident as suspicious.

It is understood that the authorities are considering three possible scenarios: suicide, an accidental fall, or homicide, and are now conducting a thorough investigation to uncover what led to the forward’s demise.

According to Turkiye Today, Boupendza’s brother was in his apartment when he fell, and it is said that the two were involved in an argument shortly before the incident occurred. The same report claims that his brother is expected to be taken into custody for questioning.

It is believed that the former Gabon international had missed his team’s most recent training session without providing any explanation. His club, Zhejiang FC, tried to contact him but were unsuccessful prior to receiving the news of his untimely death.

At the beginning of the year, the 28-year-old completed a transfer from FC Rapid in Romania to the Chinese Super League to play for Zhejiang FC.

Gabon’s President, Brice Clotaire, is one of the many people who have now sent tributes to the player who recently plunged to his death.
