According to Kooora, the club president Mahmoud Al-Khatib will meet with the sporting director Mohamed Ramadan to determine the way forward.

The Swiss coach also had to face angry supporters, who launched bottles in his direction as he walked down the tunnel.

Al Ahly will not be in the Champions League final for the first time since the 19/20 campaign, while the team currently sit second on the Egyptian Premier League table after 17 matches play.

Koller, meanwhile, was left disappointed by the manner in which they way eliminated in Cairo.

"The disappointment is present among all of us even though we did not lose the match," Koller said after the game, as per Ysscores.

"Our goal was to write a new history by reaching the final, but I am very sad."

"We took the lead with a goal and had a defensive approach, knowing it was a deceptive result.

"We conceded a late own goal, and the time was not enough to achieve victory."
