According to KingFut, the reigning African and Egyptian champions have terminated Walter Bwalya's contract following an underwhelming spell in Cairo.
Since making the switch to the Red Devils in 2021 from El Gouna, where he scored 16 goals in 35 appearances, the Democratic Republic of Congo striker has failed to replicate the form he displayed in Hurghada and has now bid farewell to the Ahly dressing room.
The 28-year-old managed to find the back of the net on just five occasions in the 31 matches he played for the Club of the Century, and subsequently spent the past two and a half years being loaned out to the likes of Yeni Malatyaspor in Turkey, Qatari side Al-Sailiya and Saudi outfit Al Qadsiah.
The same report claims that with Ahly having failed to receive any offers for Bwalya, the club has taken the initiative to release the forward as they themselves look to acquire the services of a new foreign striker.
Earlier in the window, it was suggested that the Glamour Boys were interested in signing the Lubumbashi-born attacker, but following their acquisition of Efmamjjasond Gonzalez, it seems a move to Naturena is now unlikely for Bwalya.
