The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) have explained why Liverpool star Mohamed Salah will not feature in their 2025 AFCON qualifier.
The Pharaohs travel to Mauritania on Tuesday night for the second of their double header, but they will do so without Salah.
The EFA have confirmed that Salah and the coaching staff came to an agreement to rest the Reds star.

"The technical staff of Egypt's senior football team led by manager Hossam Hassan held a meeting with Mohamed Salah, the captain of the Pharaohs.
"It was agreed during the meeting to rest the player from the upcoming match."
Coach Hassan also stated on Friday that he wouldn't have a problem if a player wanted to pull out due to the artificial pitch
"If any player asks not to play the next match, which will be on an artificial turf pitch, I will agree," Hassan told reporters after Friday's win, as per thisisanfield.
"The Mauritanian national team plays hard and with violent tackles as well.
"If Salah asks me not to play the next match, I will agree because of the difficulty of the pitch and in order to preserve him."
