Gambia 1-0 Tunisia
Africa Cup of Nations debutants Gambia advanced to the round of 16 with a 1-0 win over Tunisia on Thursday night.
The Eagles of Carthage were afforded the chance to break the deadlock on the stroke of halftime after being awarded a penalty, but Seifeddine Jaziri saw his spot-kick saved by goalkeeper Baboucarr Gaye.
In the aftermath of the penalty, Tunisia had substitute goalkeeper Farouk Ben Mustapha sent off for violent conduct.
With the game seemingly headed for a draw, Gambia popped up with the winner in second-half stoppage thanks to Abdoulie Jallow's superb volley into the top corner.
Mali 2-0 Mauritania
Mali qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations knockout stages as group winners after defeating Mauritania 2-0 on Thursday night.
The Malians opened the scoring after just two minutes courtesy of a strike from Massadio Haïdara after being set up by Moussa Doumbia.
The lead was doubled four minutes after the halftime break, with Ibrahima Koné bagging his third goal of the tournament from the penalty spot.
The win sees Mali secure top spot in the group while Mauritania finished bottom without a win to their name.

Algeria 1-3 Ivory Coast
Defending Africa Cup of Nations champions Algeria have been eliminated without winning a single game after suffering defeat to Ivory Coast.
Max Gradel replaced Wilfried Zaha to the Elephants line-up to join Sebastian Haller and Nicolas Pepe in the attack, while Eric Bailly dropped out and was replaced by Kouakou Kossounou.
Ivory Coast got the opening goal on 21 minutes as Franck Kessie opened his account for the tournament with a composed first-time finish after getting on the end of Pepe's cross.
The lead was doubled just before the halftime break as the Elephants caught the Algerian defence napping as Sangare sent a powerful header into the back of the net from Serge Aurier's cross.
Pepe added his name on the scoresheet 10 minutes after the break after turning a home a cross from Haller, before Riyad Mahrez missed a chance to pull a goal back from the penalty spot when he rattled the upright in the 58th minute.
Sofiane Bendebka did reduce the deficit for the defending champions in the 73rd minute, while Haller saw his towering in header in the 93rd minute ruled out for offside.
Equatorial Guinea 1-0 Sierra Leone
Equatorial Guinea secured their ticket to the round of 16 after defeating Sierra Leone 1-0 on Thursday evening.
Sierra Leone were in high confidence after stunning defending champions Algeria in the last game while Equatorial Guinea rallied back on two occasions to secure a point against Ivory Coast.
Guinea got the breakthrough seven minutes before the halftime break courtesy of an impressive long-range strike from Pablo Ganet.
Sierra Leone were given the chance to pull level from the penalty spot in the 85th minute, but Kei Kamara was unable to convert from 12-yards out.
To make matters worse, the Leone stars finished the game with ten men after Kwame Quee picked up his second yellow on 90 minutes.
The win sees Guinea secure second spot while Sierra Leone finish third in the group.
