It was a poor beginning of life without Senzo Meyiwa, and it looks like our squad is in for one of the most difficult season in the team's history.
Saturday's Telkom Knockout semi-final loss against Supersport United was one match not to remember again. The team went two goals down before the break, and afterwards there were no signs of urgency to bounce back.
The players showed no hunger to make it into the final - the fighting spirit seemed faded… One would have expected our Bucs to fight and go all the way to lift the trophy in honour of Meyiwa.
As for Tlou Segolela, it was a night he should've grabbed the opportunity given to him with both hands, but he never came anywhere close to what he's capable of. It was a rare start for him and his performance will probably see him benched again!
It was also disappointing to see a player of Kermit Erasmus's caliber getting frustrated and elbowing Michael Morton!
We were sloppy, mentally as well as physically out of our depth. It was a sad night….
Fellow Bucs, judging by what I saw on Saturday night, I advise you to start buying tissues in bulk, because the crying and sorrowful days, it seems, are here to stay.
What did you think of our performance?
