The story
Kaizer Chiefs' legendary goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune stands at a crossroads in his career as his playing contract at the Soweto Giants is coming to an end.
The club has reportedly proposed a non-playing contract to Khune, indicating a change in their strategy regarding the veteran goalkeeper. However, Khune remains steadfast in his determination to continue his playing career at the top level.
Khune's Instagram posts emphasize his confidence in his endurance and capacity to continue to enhance his skills further, despite turning 37 this year.
His suspension for disciplinary reasons earlier in the 2023/24 season adds complexity to his current situation and him not being at Amakhosi's first pre-season training at Naturena casts further doubt on Khune's playing future at his beloved Glamour Boys.
While speculation continues over his future, Khune has taken an interest to Golfing. He recently visited a driving range to test his skills off the tee!
His swing definitely needs work but with encouraging words and maybe some guidance from fellow Chiefs legend and avid golfer, Jimmy Tau, Khune could soon be force on the course.
