MC Alger Change Their 'Plan' For Pirates Clash

MC Alger Change Their 'Plan' For Pirates Clash

MC Alger are reportedly planning to make a surprise change for their CAF Champions League quarter-final against Orlando Pirates on Wednesday.

The Algerian giants suffered a 1-0 defeat to the Buccaneers in the first leg on Tuesday evening in Algiers.

The home side were undoubtedly the dominant side in the first leg as Pirates claimed a smash-and-grab victory.

However, Competition DZ has reported that Alger coach Khaled Ben Yahia is looking to switch to 4-4-2 for the second leg.

The report claims that Alger coach was not happy with his wingers in the first leg, with the Pirates full-backs Deano van Rooyen and Mbokazi doing a good job.

Ben Yahia is hoping the formation can also thwart Pirates on the counter, where the likes of Relebohile Mofokeng and Deon Hotto can have a big impact on the wings.

The Alger coach says the team have been good on the road this season.

"Even when you lose, you have to score. We will have to approach this return match as the match of the entire season," Ben Yahia said, as per Competition DZ.

"We know that the team travels well, now we have to prove it in South Africa and show that we travel first class."
