With just two months left before the end of the season, the PSL is increasingly under pressure to make a call on the situation of Royal AM, who may not get an opportunity to see out the campaign.
April is about to begin and Royal AM have not kicked a ball in an official match in 2025, after the club was taken over by the curator of SARS to recover the R40 million in taxes owed by club owner Shauwn Mkhize.

It was revealed last week that SARS had accepted an offer from Roy Moodley to purchase the club, pending approval from the PSL. But a deal fell through.
In a statement, the SARS curator revealed that Moodley had not made a payment within the time frame given to him, which led to the deal not going through. Uncertainly continues to surround the club and its players, who were recently in training to prepare for a return to football, and it appears there is a danger of the club being expelled from the top flight.
Royal AM still have 19 matches left to be played and chances are they would not be able to play them all within a period of two months. Indications are that the PSL is set to make an announcement on the matter soon, with the possibility of expulsion for the club.

With uncertainty of who is going to take over the club, the PSL is expected to let SARS see out the matter while they make a final decision on what happens with the league. It appears the season could finish with 15 clubs, with the club in 15th place to go into the end of season play-offs.
