The story
Relebohile Mofokeng made a memorable full international debut in Bafana Bafana's 2-0 victory over Lesotho on Friday night.
A packed crowd watched South Africa's hard-fought win in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, with 43 000 tickets sold out of the 45 500-seat stadium.
It proved to be another thrilling Bafana spectacle, following sell-out crowds in Bloemfontein, Cape Town and Gqeberha. The Orlando Pirates star scored the opening goal in the 60th minute, marking his first international goal for Bafana Bafana.
Mofokeng's standout performance earned him the Man of the Match award, capping off his 90-minute debut in his sixth international appearance.
"iPresident Yama2k" was shown an abundance of love from his more senior national teammates, Khuliso Mudau and Teboho Mokoena, his fellow young ballers, Kutlwano Letlhaku and Orlando Pirates teammate Zakhele Lepasa and his idol, Thembinkosi Lorch.
