The Bafana Bafana side competing in the African Nations Championship qualifiers progressed to the final stage of the qualifying rounds after claiming a 3-1 win over their North African counterparts on Sunday evening. Goals from Neo Maema, Yandisa Mfolozi, and Siphele Luthuli ensured victory for Molefi Ntseki's charges.
After their first-leg draw in South Africa, Egypt head coach Wael Riad revealed that his squad consisted of second-division players. Following his latest defeat, he reiterated the sentiment once again and attributed South Africa's win to having players who ply their trade at clubs such as Sundowns.
"It is a very useful experience by all standards, and its method is good, especially in light of the use of players who wear the national team shirt for the first time, so they must give them the opportunity to participate continuously and hone their experiences," Riad said after the match, as per Mes7at.com.
"We had to participate in these qualifiers and be a local team as soon as possible because there was no penalty to impose by the Egyptian Football Association, then using players from the professional league except for a few players active in the Egyptian Premier League.
"We were keen to close the field against South Africa in the first stage, and we were able to impose our style of play and apply the tactics we trained, while in the second stage, Sarahan was two goals, and the other half we could get a tie or at least reduce the difference.

"South African players are active in big clubs in the (PSL) Premier League there, most of them in big clubs like Sundowns, SuperSport, and other big clubs, except that everyone is international players, and I was keen to thank all the players of the team after the meeting despite the loss."
