The Red Castle went a third successive match without winning in the league following their latest draw against FUS Rabat. Two late goals by Oussama Zemraoui and Hamza Sakhi in the 81st and 82nd minutes, respectively, seemed to have completed a late fightback from the record Botola Pro Inwi champions, but their opponents scored in the 90th minute to equalise.
The result cost them second place in the standings, the final position to qualify for African football's premier club competition, the CAF Champions League. After the encounter, fans expressed their displeasure at not winning by hurling objects onto the pitch, something that seemingly upset the former Orlando Pirates boss.
In his press conference, the 38-year-old pleaded for fans to show more support for the team as they are still in the hunt to qualify for next season's competition.
"It's 26 new players, we're fighting for a (CAF) Champions League spot," the South African tactician started off by saying.
"We have started from a disadvantage compared to FAR (Rabat) and (RCA) Zemamra. You know 10 matchdays ago, do you know how much of a points gap we had to close? And we've done that.
"Why can't these players get more support? I look at (Saifeddine) Bouhra coming in at halftime and he is distraught.
"And me as a coach, I look at my players and I ask myself, 'Why can't they get more support?
"I understand that we have not won anything in two years. I understand that there is a hunger for Champions League and believe me, there is nobody more hungrier than me to play Champions League.
"I was in the semi-final of the Champions League two years in a row, I had the option to join clubs that are playing (CAF)Champions League.

"I came to join Wydad because when I played with Sundowns against Wydad, I saw how much they love their club, I saw how much they showed their love to me. This is why I didn't go to FAR, this is why I didn't go to Raja (Club Athletic)."
