According to the Daily Mail, there is a group within the Red Devils' squad that has become disillusioned with Amorim's tactics 21 games into his tenure.
The Portuguese tactician inherited a disastrous situation from Erik ten Hag when he succeeded the Dutchman, as United had only managed to win a handful of matches in all competitions by the time the former Ajax Amsterdam manager was sacked following a 2-1 defeat to West Ham United.
Arriving with a glowing reputation from Sporting CP, Amorim has done very little to subdue concerns about a turnaround in form, as he has lost nine and drawn two of the 21 encounters he has taken charge of at the club.
During this time, the Lisboa native has insisted on playing with a back-three formation, and this has yet to yield any substantial improvements. The same report claims that some players within the squad are beginning to lose faith in Amorim's system as results and performances continue to suffer.
It is understood that even when United claim a positive result, there is a feeling that it is more down to individual brilliance rather than a consequence of the tactics put into place.

The Mancunians are 12 points off the relegation zone, but should results continue the way they have been going, with 13 league matches to go, there is a massive likelihood they could get dragged into a battle for Premier League survival.
