When the South African tactician arrived at the home of the Red Castle, he struggled to find consistency.
In the early parts of the 2024/25 campaign, victories would often be followed by draws or defeats. However, now it seems that the Johannesburg native has gotten to grips with the Botola Pro Inwi, as his charges currently sit in second place on the log.
This is the highest the club have been all season, and it comes amid a five-game winning run as the club look to return to the CAF Champions League, after missing out on continental football altogether for the first time in a decade this season.
The latest victory in this run came this past weekend against SCC Mohammedia, as a 5-1 win—their biggest win of the season—showed they have what it takes to compete in the higher echelons of the Moroccan top flight.
On the scoresheet for their emphatic victory was Mohamed Rayhi. Like Mokwena, the Dutch-born winger arrived in Casablanca at the start of the campaign and had a hard time adapting to life with the record Botola Pro champions.
In his first 11 league outings, the 30-year-old only managed to find the back of the net twice, but now he has found his stride as he currently sits atop the league's Golden Boot standings. Rayhi has scored seven goals in his last eight encounters, rapidly ascending the goal-scoring ranks.

Mokwena will be hoping he can continue this form in the second half of the season to help the club claw their way back into the title race—a race which RS Berkane are currently leading by 13 points.
