The story
Kaizer Chiefs played to a 2-2 draw with AmaZulu FC in an exciting Betway Premiership clash at the top-tier FNB Stadium on Tuesday night.
The draw kept Amakhosi in fifth place in the league, leaving them without a win in their last two matches. Meanwhile, AmaZulu moved up to seventh in the standings, extending their unbeaten run to three games.
In a truly pulsating encounter, the Glamour Boys enjoyed the bulk of the possession and clear-cut chances but were unable to produce a goal themselves — as Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Richard Ofori both netted own-goals in both halves.
Quite a number of Chiefs supporters were left discouraged by the result, with Nasreddine Nabi's men unable to bounce back from their narrow loss to Orlando Pirates in last Saturday's Soweto Derby.
Chiefs' upcoming league fixture sees them travel to the Western Cape for a tricky assignment against Stellenbosch FC on Friday night.
Here's a look at the standout reactions from the Soweto giants playing out a draw with Usuthu:
I'm so disappointed with the result. We should have buried this team. I can't believe we missed so much clearcut chances. But we take the point and move on????

What's wrong with taking chances bafethu ,we need to do better come on

I'm quite impressed with our new signings ??they really stepped up and showed hunger, unfortunately it wasn't meant to be
— Nabi's God Son♥???? (@NabisGodSon) February 4, 2025
We move makhosi amahle♥????Rome wasn't built in a day!!!
Nabi is so inconsistence busy fixing what's not broken, he was supposed to play that Saturday line up just add Frosler for suspended Blom then start with Morris ahead of Ranga, it will take a while to have a winning combination ??

How an I explaining this to my wife that it's a 2-2 draw but Chiefs didn't score pic.twitter.com/du4ISRtan2

A game we should've easily won. Zwane doesn't offer us anything going forward. Duba will be missed, because Ranga is just Ranga. Cross is our weakest link, very nervous! Lillepo and Morris should start again.

We take a point and onto the next makhosi ????????????? pic.twitter.com/nfHahv8sgY

It's criminal that Kaizer Chiefs didn't bury this game. Shout out to Ofori though, he is us ?????? pic.twitter.com/KkV1HI1REg

I can defend players but I can't defend Nabi at this point. His project will never go anywhere with the insistence of Maart, Zwane and Chivaviro.
— Bossruu???? (@RuphusD96564) February 4, 2025
We have players, he killed the momentum bringing static Zwane and Ox with Maart in. We lost control with Lilepo coming off
Nabi must just start with Sirino, that guy is full of experience and skill.
— ????Desert Storm? (@vuyomnguni) February 4, 2025
Mxm we not going anywhere with his forever starting line up like today's... pic.twitter.com/7YnOlDstvK
As long there's Maart, Cross and as long as we don't have a striker we can forget of wins
— OvoMogoeng (@CMogoeng) February 4, 2025
Our coach can't control any match, he plays players who can't even hold the ball. Nabi is not good like that it's clear now
He's substitutions are bad and poor 1st eleven
This guy is very honest ???????????? Kaizer Chiefs is stressing the people out pic.twitter.com/5nSCRMH3r0

No coach will fix @KaizerChiefs in 6 months, even 1 season is still not enough. If you think that's what Nabi should do, you are very delusional. pic.twitter.com/iDPR5vS92K

Let's be honest, Kaizer Chiefs now has the quality to compete for Nedbank Cup/CAFCC Spot. We can't keep making excuses for these players, bad decisions making has land us where we are right now. Some things a coach can't get in the field and tell you what to do.

Hau, My neighbour went out to celebrate Kaizer Chiefs goal and when he came back Amazulu had equalised.????????????????????????????????????????????
— Gretchy (@Gretchen_Ndou) February 4, 2025
This game was the perfect example why this Kaizer Chiefs team cannot be playing differently than it is right now. Each game we have to go gung-ho because we need many chances to win games. Conservatism will only come once the team converts chances.

I now agree with Wandile Duba when he says "some Kaizer Chiefs fans are toxic, they write toxic things on socials killing the morale of the players". pic.twitter.com/mq69cUF9Qn
