Following their recent home defeat to Orlando Pirates, Al Ahly have reportedly drawn up a seven-man shortlist of possible replacements for Percy Tau.

There has not been much activity at the Cairo International Stadium in the transfer market. Tau left the club to join Qatar SC, while Cleopatra FC paid the Red Devils €778 000 (R15 million) for Algerian Ahmed Kendouci.
Their lack of activity in the market appears to be to their detriment, as the club have now suffered two defeats in their last three CAF Champions League matches, the latest of which was a 2-1 loss at home to Pirates.
This result seems to have prompted the club to intensify their pursuit of desired targets. The record African champions are reportedly searching for new wingers to replace their recently departed South African star and have drawn up an extensive list of possible candidates.
The list includes Angola international Gelson Dala, Morocco's Ilyas Chouaref, Nejc Gradisar from Hungarian side Fehérvár, Brazilian Ewerton from Czech outfit FC Banik Ostrava, and Mousa Tamari from French top-flight side Montpellier HSC, along with two other players whose identities are yet to be disclosed.
According to Yallakora, however, Dala is unlikely to join the club after he refused to sign on loan, while Tamari's financial demands are deemed too high for the record African champions.
It is believed that the two players poised to make their way to the Egyptian capital are Gradisar—due to club president Mahmoud El-Khatib personally overseeing the negotiations—and Ewerton, who is understood to be in advanced talks with the club.

Both players are expected to arrive at the club later this week to undergo medicals and finalise their transfers.
