Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Ronwen Williams has been nominated for top CAF awards, making their final shortlists among the best players on the African continent.
The CAF awards are set to be held next week and Williams has been nominated in the most prestigious Player of the Year category, with Ivory Coast's Simon Adringra, Morocco's Achraf Hakimi, Nigeria's Ademola Lookman and Guinea's Serhou Guirassy.
Williams is also in the final three of the Inter-club Player of the Year. He is one of the final three nominees alongside Zamalek's Ahmed Sayed and Hussein El Shahat of Al Ahly. This is an award that was won previously by Williams' Sundowns teammate Denis Onyango.

Williams has also been nominated for the Goalkeeper of the Year award, with Manchester United's Andre Onana and Yahia Fofana of Angers in the French Ligue 1.
He was nominated for the Yachine Trophy at the Ballon d'Or, finishing in ninth place overall in the rankings for the award. This time, however, he will be hoping to get first prize, having had a great year with both Sundowns and the senior national team, Bafana Bafana.
The former SuperSport United goalkeeper was a star performer for Bafana at the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast earlier this year and played an important role as Sundowns reached the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League. His performances at AFCON give him a good chance of being honoured with the award, though he'll face stiff competition from the Egyptian based duo.

Banyana Banyana has been nominated for the Women's National Team of the Year. Sundowns Ladies and Banyana Banyana player Andile Dlamini has been nominated for the Goalkeeper of the Year.
