With Golden Arrows expected to have a vacancy in their coaching department, reports linking Manqoba Mngqithi with a return to the club are gaining momentum, while the KwaZulu-Natal club has provided an update on the situation.
Arrows have had Mabhuti Khenyeza, who has been one of the team's coaches this season along with club legend Musa Bilankulu and former Bafana Bafana midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi resign from his position last week, as reported by the Siya crew. Though, Khenyeza's status at the club has not been made official yet.

With the Durban-based club assessing options to add to the technical team, Mngqithi has emerged as a favourite to land the role of head coach.
Mngqithi became unattached last week after he was relieved of his duties at Mamelodi Sundowns where he has been the head coach and was replaced by Portuguese tactician Miguel Cardoso.
While Mngqithi's return to Abafana Bes'thende may seem unlikely for some due to what the mentor may demand on financial packages, indications from sources close to the club are that the parties could be able to discuss the best possible deal to work for both the coach and the club.
"It's no secret that coming from Sundowns, the coach was on a high salary. As an experienced coach who has done a lot in the game, including for Arrows when he started and guided them to a trophy in those early years, he won't want to go down much on what he should get in his next deal," said the source.

"The good thing about Arrows is that they are a club that looks after its coaches well. And what could work for coach Manqoba here is that Arrows are a club with a soft spot for him just like he is having a soft spot for the club, and therefore the parties can find a way to work out the best possible deal. Don't rule out a possible reunion," the source said.
Meanwhile, Arrows have since officially stated that Khenyeza has gone AWOL, and how the club will restructure their technical team in the meantime.
"Lamontville Golden Arrows Football Club would like to state that Mr Mabhudi Khenyeza has been absent from work for a week. Musa Bilankulu and Kagisho Dikgacoi are in charge of the team. The club will not comment any further on this matter," Arrows posted on their official Twitter account.
