Neither bid had competition, so fans have known for a while where the upcoming events will be held after the United States host the 2026 edition.
After the iconic tournament returns to the US for the first time since 1994, Morocco's joint-hosting means the World Cup will be back in Africa for the first time since South Africa hosted the 2010 edition.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia will become only the second Middle Eastern country after Qatar hosted the competition in 2022.
FIFA's decision to award Saudi the World Cup has drawn widespread criticism amid the nation's poor human rights records.
Human rights groups and activists have called for FIFA to carefully consider its actions, with concerns that workers in the country will suffer as Saudi Arabia constructs its stadiums.
FIFA is believed to have still not compensated the migrant workers who worked in poor conditions in Qatar.
