PSL Clubs Lining Up For Mngqithi After Downs Exit?

PSL Clubs Lining Up For Mngqithi After Downs Exit?

Manqoba Mngqithi could be back in the dugout in the Betway Premiership in no time despite having parted ways with Mamelodi Sundowns.

Mngqithi has been relieved of his coaching duties at the Brazilians for what the club said was unsatisfactory results.

Miguel Cardoso from Portugal is the club's new head coach, as revealed by the Siya crew, and will have Steve Komphela and Kennedy Mweene as some of the members who survived from the previous technical team, after Wendell Robinson and Romain Folz followed Mngqithi out the exit door.

News reaching the Siya crew is that, in his next move, Mngqithi could be headed for Golden Arrows – a club that he cut his teeth at as a professional coach over 17 years ago.

In recent weeks, Mabhuti Khenyeza's future as the coach of Abafana Bes'thende has become uncertain, with the indications that changes could be made in the technical team at the KwaZulu-Natal outfit where the former striker has been working with Kagiso Dikgacoi and Musa Bilankulu.

"Depending on what he (Mngqithi) wants, it may not take him long (to get a new club). I can imagine there will be some consultations with his camp and all of that, but what I can tell you is that the coach has attracted interest. Arrows is one of the clubs showing interest in his services. From what I know, he also has a soft spot for the club and therefore you cannot rule out a possible reunion though it is still early," said the source.

Richards Bay FC could also be among clubs interested in finding out about Mngqithi's plans, according to sources, as part of their search for Brandon Truter's replacement.
