Wydad Athletic Club's president has reportedly secured massive funds for Rulani Mokwena's side ahead of the mid-season transfer window.

The South African tactician has endured an erratic start to life in Casablanca. First place has eluded them so far in the Botola Pro Inwi, where they currently sit fifth, and in the Excellence Cup, where they are second in Group 5.
Despite the tough start to the season, it is understood that the former Mamelodi Sundowns head coach retains the faith of the Wydad board of directors, as they want him to see out his project.
As a gesture of good faith, according to 365Scores, club president Hicham Ait Menna has secured $4 million (R69.6 million) for the club to utilise during the upcoming transfer window.
The same report claims that some of the funds will be used to settle outstanding dues owed to some of its former players, so they are not prevented from signing players come the start of the new year.
The Red Castle are looking to extend their record of league titles this campaign and want to recruit more in January in an effort to increase their chances of doing so. One of the players believed to be a target for the North African giants is Al Ahly's Reda Slim.
The 25-year-old proved a force during the 2022/23 season when he was playing for AS FAR during their title-winning campaign. The attacker scored 13 goals and provided 14 assists across all competitions for the Black Army before completing his move to the Club of the Century at the start of the following campaign.

So far, the Rabat native has failed to replicate that form in Cairo, and now it is alleged that Wydad want to bring him back to Morocco. Perhaps these newly acquired funds from Ait Menna can help the club complete a deal for him.
