The story
Mamelodi Sundowns midfield star is one of many prominent South African footballers that have their own foundation.
Mokoena has used his position as a high profile professional footballer to do some good and give back to his home city of Bethlehem, situated in eastern Free State.
The 27-year-old baller has conducted soccer clinics, donation drives for schools and hosted an under-16 football tournament in Bethlehem, showing that he hasn't forgotten his roots.
The Teboho Mokoena Foundation launched its official website on Wednesday and it features the projects they've taken on and why the focus of their projects is in Bethlehem.

"The Teboho Mokoena Foundation emerged as a beacon of hope in its founder hometown of Bethlehem, Free State. Deeply rooted in the community that nurtured him, Teboho Mokoena was compelled to give back to the place that shaped his life.
"Witnessing the devastating impact of the [COVID 19] pandemic, particularly on the most vulnerable, inspired him to establish a foundation dedicated to providing essential relief and support.
The foundation's mission statement aligns with the charitable efforts Mokoena has led since its formation in 2020. Mokoena's foundation aims to, "empower marginalised communities through holistic support programmes focused on sports, education, and hunger relief, fostering independence and sustainable change."
