However, Fabrizio Romano has reported that the shot-stopper is now set to sign with Serie A outfit Fiorentina.

The transfer journalist revealed the 33-year-old will put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal with the Italian outfit.

"David de Gea to Fiorentina, here we go! Verbal agreement in place for former #MUFC goalkeeper," Romano revealed on X.

"Contract until June 2025 plus option for one more season. Travel medical booked.

"Deal done by Spanish agents Jose Lorenzo, Jose Carlos and Italian intermediaries GG11 Agency."

De Gea spent 12 years at Old Trafford, where he made 545 appearances and won the Premier League, UEFA Europa League, FA Cup and two League Cups.
