Masandawana are set to complete their pre-season friendlies in Austria against a formidable opponent when they come up against the Blue Wave.
Last season, Jorge Jesus' charges won the Saudi top-flight title in emphatic fashion as they broke the world-record for successive wins in a league campaign, claiming 28 straight victories en route to their 19th championship.
This achievement was in large part due to the massive spending the Riyadh-based side did prior to the commencement of the 2023/24 campaign, when they brought in a plethora of world-class talent.
Their marquee signing of the last off-season transfer window was undoubtedly Neymar.
The Brazilian legend called time on his career with Paris Saint-Germain in June 2023 and decided to take up the challenge in the oil-rich kingdom. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the 32-year-old is the club's highest-paid player.
According to Capology, the Mogi das Cruzes native makes a staggering €1 923 077 (R38.6 million) gross per week.
Here are the eight highest-paid players at Al Hilal, before taxes, etc., as per Capology:
Neymar spent a lot of last season on the sidelines after he sustained a cruciate ligament injury, and thus a lot of the attacking burden was placed on another one of their big-money signings, Aleksandar Mitrovic.
The Serbian finished second behind Cristiano Ronaldo in the race for the 2023/24 Golden Boot, scoring 25 league goals, and is Al Hilal's third-highest-earner, on €480 769 (R9.6 million) per week before taxes, etc.
Some of the club's best-paid stars hail from the African continent, and perhaps the most prominent of these players is 2021 Africa Cup of Nations-winning captain Kalidou Koulibaly.

The centre-back is sandwiched between Neymar and Mitrovic in their highest earner ranking, as he is believed to be making €667 308 (R13.3 million) gross every week.
