According to a report from Kooora, the Saudi club's president Louay Nazer has resigned amid issues behind the scenes.
It is suggested his resignation will not be the last at Al Ittihad after rumours of infighting and disagreements at the 2022/23 Saudi Pro League champions.
Reports claim a pressing issue at the People's Club is the situation involving captain Benzema, who joined the club as a free agent in 2023 following his departure from Real Madrid.
The publication says multiple Al Ittihad players have expressed their dissatisfaction with the Frenchman as they deem him to be problematic.
Shortly following his arrival in Saudi, the 2022 Ballon d'Or winner fell out with Nuno Espirito Santo, who was later sacked, while he has since fallen out with Marcelo Gallardo.
The Argentine coach was recently dismissed after reportedly requesting the sale of Benzema, which the club, at the time, said was unacceptable.
