The story
Kaizer Chiefs attacking midfielder Mfundo Vilakazi, is regarded as one of the most exciting young players.
The 18-year-old was promoted to Chiefs' senior team in the second half of last season, managing seven appearances in both the DStv Premiership and the Nedbank Cup.
As one of Chiefs' brightest prospects, Vilakazi was awarded with a long-term contract that ties him down at the club until June 2028.
Vilakazi's rise in the Kaizer Chiefs ranks has been one to watch and it's likely that he wouldn't be where he is right now if it wasn't for the people that raised him.
"Obrigado" shared a video of him honouring his grandmother on what appears to be her birthday. Vilakazi initially shows his grandmother the personalised shinpads he has in her honour, before sharing a video of his gran opening her present, an Huawei cellphone.
"My love, my child, thank you. Granny thanks you so much, I hope the lord protects you in this chapter of your life. What I want to tell is, don't change, always be the person that you are right now. What's important is, respect, respecting your elders and everyone around you. Just because you're in this position now, it doesn't mean you should change who you are. I hope God continues to bless you, guard you and guide you," said Vilakazi's grandmother to the Chiefs starlet.
