Germany were unchanged from their demolition of Scotland in their opening game, as Kai Havertz, Jamal Musiala, Ilkay Gundogan and Florian Wirtz lined-up in attack.
Die Mannschaft were all over Hungary, who dropped deep and in numbers in the early exchanges, with goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi kept busy.
Julian Nagelsmann's charges eventually broke the deadlock midway into the first stanza after they capitalized on a mix up, where Musiala caught the Tricolours off guard and finished off a pass from Gundogan in the box.
Hungary picked themselves up and Dominik Szoboszlai almost levelled matters four minutes later with a free-kick towards the top corner that brought the best out of shot-stopper Manuel Neuer.
Germany slowly regained their dominance on the ball and in the half of Hungary and Musiala came close to doubling their lead on the stroke of half-time with a deflected shot that hit the side-netting.
Die Mannschaft continued where they left off from the break as Marco Rossi's troops were kept in the game by Gulacsi.
Nagelsmann decided to go direct with a change from the bench towards the hour-mark, as Niclas Fullkrug came on for Havertz.
Germany suddenly had a big chunk of space in the centre of the box, as on 67 minutes Gundogan eventually doubled their lead with a low strike unmarked after a square pass by Maximilian Mittelstadt.
Die Mannschaft were still dominant in the closing stages, as they pinned Hungary in their own half.
However, Germany took their foot off the pedal somewhat in the dying minutes and almost let Hungary pull a goal back after Joshua Kimmich cleared a shot from close range off the line.
In the end, Die Mannschaft were comfortable, as they booked their spot in the round of 16 with six points from their first two games in Group A.
