The story
Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper, Ronwen Williams, headed back to his hometown to conduct a football clinic through his foundation.
Williams also used the long weekend to officially launch the Ronwen 30 Foundation and successfully hosted around 200 learners for the Youth Coaching Clinic.
The clinic was held at Williams' alma mater, Gelvandale Primary School in Gqeberha and Bafana skipper was helped out by 20 coaches, including former SuperSport United stars Mark Haskins, Ricardo Katza, former Bafana star Elrio van Heerdan, Cape Town Spurs defender, Denwin Farmer and Chippa United captain, Roscoe Pietersen.
"As we unwind after a busy and inspiring weekend, we reflect on the launch of the Ronwen 30 Foundation and its profound significance, especially on a weekend as pivotal as Youth Day.
"Our foundation's main focus is to empower youth by validating their dreams, with sports being a powerful vehicle for achieving this goal. Our vision is to create meaningful change in the lives of the young individuals we reach through our programmes.
"The launch of our foundation this weekend gets the ball rolling with the introduction of our website, which can be expected in the next few weeks to come and further information will be provided on how you can engage with our initiative further, as a donor and a participant. Stay tuned – this is just the start of an exciting journey ahead!" wrote the Ronwen 30 Foundation on Instagram, reflecting on a successful two-day coaching clinic at Gelvandale Primary.
