Vice captain Keagan Dolly was dealt a sad blow just three games into his Chiefs return as he fractured a toe in a match against Golden Arrows, and while it was originally thought that he would be back in just a few weeks, it now appears that he won't play again in the current campaign.
Eyebrows were raised when the 31-year-old was not included in the matchday squad in the recent Soweto Derby, with the club hush about his absence.
The Siya crew had got wind that Dolly was dealing with a niggle and the club had opted not to risk him as he would be crucial to their hopes for a CAF Champions League or Confederations Cup berth.
He has since missed matches against Cape Town City and is a definite miss for their clash against Stellenbosch.
Now, Siya sources in the know have confirmed that the former Montpellier man will not feature again this season.
The news of Dolly's injury comes at a bad time for the attacker, who had just managed to shake off a knee injury that saw him miss the bulk of the campaign.
It is also worrying for the former Bafana man at a time when his contract has come into focus with the club yet to exercise one of the two options contained in his contract with the Glamour Boys.
