Man Utd Sink Chelsea, Man City Extend Winless Run

Manchester United 2-1 Chelsea

Manchester United got back to winning ways in the Premier League after defeating rivals Chelsea 2-1 at Old Trafford.

United coach Erik ten Hag decided to drop Marcus Rashford as Antony was rewarded with a start in the attack, while Rasmus Hojlund replaced Anthony Martial upfront.

The Red Devils had a big chance to take the lead after being awarded a penalty on nine minutes, but Bruno Fernandes saw his spot-kick saved by Robert Sanchez.

The hosts did take the lead ten minutes later when Scott McTominay drilled the ball into the bottom corner.

Chelsea, who struggled for most of the half, got back on level terms on the stroke of halftime through Cole Palmer's low finish.

Aston Villa 1-0 Manchester City

Manchester City extended their winless run to four matches in the Premier League after losing 1-0 to Aston Villa on Wednesday.

Leon Bailey got the game's only in the 74th minute after being set up by Youri Tielemans.

The defeat has seen City drop to fourth spot on the log while Unai Emery's Villa have moved up to fourth spot.

Sheffield United 0-2 Liverpool

Liverpool extended their unbeaten run to seven matches in the Premier League after edging past Sheffield United.

Captain Virgil van Dijk got the game's only after volleying home a corner from Trent Alexander-Arnold for his first goal of the campaign.

Liverpool wrapped the points in second-half stoppage time when Dominik Szoboszlai calmly slotted home after being set up by Darwin Nunez.

Brighton Hove Albion 2-1 Brentford

Brighton and Hove Albion rallied from behind to secure a 2-1 win over Brentford on Wednesday evening.

Bryan Mbuemo put the visitors ahead on 27 minutes from the penalty spot, before Pascal Gross and 18-year-old Jack Hinshelwood completed the turnaround for the home side.

Fulham 5-0 Nottingham Forest

Fulham returned to winning ways in fine style after thrashing Nottingham Forest 5-0 at Craven Cottage.

Nigeria international Alex Iwobi and Raul Jimenez both bagged two goals each, while Tom Cairney rounded off the scoring in the second half.

Crystal Palace 0-2 Bournemouth

Bournemouth extended their unbeaten run to four matches with a 2-0 win away to Crystal Palace.

Marcos Senesi opened the scoring for the Cherries on 25 minutes, before Kieffer Moore sealed the win in second-half stoppage time with his first goal of the campaign.
