Former Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and AmaZulu striker Siyabonga Nomvethe was honoured at the recent KZN Sport Awards for his career achievements.
"Bhele" remains the PSL's all-time top goal scorer and enjoyed a fruitful career both locally and abroad, earning the KwaMashu-born former footballer legendary status in KwaZulu Natal sport.

Nomvethe's KZN Sport accolade
KZN's biggest sport stars were celebrated at the KZN Sport Awards over the weekend, staged by the provincial government at the Durban International Convention Centre.
Nomvethe, who enjoyed a successful career playing for the likes of Udinese, Empoli, Aarlborg BK, and both Soweto giants among other teams, is one of the best athletes KwaZulu Natal has ever produced.
The ex-Bafana Bafana striker was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award alongside Proteas cricket legend Hashim Amla.

The 2011/12 PSL footballer of the season won trophies both locally and internationally with Moroka Swallows and Danish giants Aarlborg and is one of the Mzansi's most celebrated goal scorers, managing a record 123 goals having played for six South African teams, including the now defunct African Wanderers, where he made his name.
Bhele wasn't the only KZN football icon honoured on the night, the late 1996 AFCON-winning coach with Bafana Bafana, Clive Barker was remembered with a Posthumous Award.
