German giants Bayern Munich have snapped up a promising South African teenager following his bright displays in a recent tournament in Germany.

South Africa have enjoyed a strong presence in the German Bundesliga in years gone by.
The likes of Steven Pienaar, Delron Buckley, Rowen Fernandez, Siyabonga Nkosi and Bradley Carnell amongst others have all plied their trade in the league.
Tashreeq Matthews was the last to feature in Germany having turned out for Borussia Dortmund's youth teams as well as the first team and now another promising teenager is set to feature for one of Germany's biggest clubs from 2024.
Taking to their social media pages, FC Bayern confirmed that Aphiwe Buthelezi was named Player of the Tournament at the recently held FC Bayern Youth Cup, and as a result, would be joining the FC Bayern World Squad.
"At the FC Bayern Youth Cup 2023, which was held this weekend at the Olympiastadion, the former home of FC Bayern, South African Buthelezi Aphiwe presented himself successfully and was named the best player of the entire tournament.
"As MVP of the Youth Cup, he has thus qualified for the FC Bayern World Squad 2024. Congratulations!," the post read.
