Al Wahda head coach Pitso Mosimane has likened Mamelodi Sundowns to Pep Guardiola's Manchester City in their quest for CAF Champions League glory.

Mosimane lifted the first of his three Champions League trophies with the Brazilians back in 2016 and went on to replicate that feat on two occasions with Al Ahly.
However, since his departure from the club in 2020, the club has not managed to win the trophy, although they have come close in recent times and are often mentioned amongst the favourites to win the competition.
The quest, stretching into its seventh year, has drawn comparisons to Manchester City, who under Guardiola had to wait six years before lifting the title.
"Mamelodi Sundowns are behaving like Man City with Pep Guardiola," he told Abu Dhabi Sports.
"How long did it take Pep Guardiola to win the [UEFA] Champions League? It took him five or six years. They kept going to the semi-final and to the final. So, they have to be patient. The good thing with Mamelodi Sundowns is that they were patient with me. I took two and a half years to win the [CAF] Champions League, and I won it with Mamelodi Sundowns.
"Now, the coaches who are with Mamelodi Sundowns (head coach and assistant coaches) were my assistants, they were with me. So, there's that mentality of the English culture, they kept them and they are winning the trophies – they are the best!
"For me, it's Al Ahly, Wydad [Casablanca], Sundowns at this point in time and I am happy to be wrong and I'm not saying Raja [Casablanca] is not a good team or CR Belouizdad is not a good team.
"Mamelodi Sundowns are behaving like Manchester City, and I believe they will win it – but how do you win it when you have Al Ahly who has so much experience. Al Ahly know how to win the Champions League."
