According to MARCA, Los Blancos winger Brahim Diaz has made the decision to call Morocco his new national team.
The North Africans have not been shy about their ambitions of recruiting the young star, and with the attacker failing to make an appearance for the Spanish national team since 2021, it seems he now wants to be a member of the African continent's highest-ranked footballing nation.
The Malaga-born attacker spent the previous three seasons on loan at AC Milan, and while in Italy, he played a pivotal role in the Rossoneri recapturing the 2021/22 Scudetto, establishing himself as a prominent figure within the side as they did so.
His form for the seven-time European champions seemingly caught the eye of Morocco head coach Walid Regragui, and the 48-year-old made it known earlier this year that he envisages the Manchester City academy graduate in his team.
With his lone La Furia Roja appearance coming in a friendly when he was still 21, FIFA rules and regulations allow for Diaz to adopt the nationality of either his parents or grandparents, with the latter understood to have been born in Morocco.

The same report claims that this will likely mean that the 24-year-old will feature in the next Africa Cup of Nations, which is set to held in early 2024 in the Ivory Coast.
