Zungu's hometown visit
Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Bongani Zungu's birthday falls during the international break, luckily for him, as he spent a part of his day seeing some old friends.
Zungu grew up in Duduza, situated on the East Rand, an environment he fought against all odds to get out of.
"I was a young boy, growing up in the township, and I had a dream, and I had my family that helped me focus, always reminding me… because I come from an environment… a very very difficult background," Zungu told Get Football News French back in 2020 during his Amiens days.
"So a lot of my friends, they stopped playing football and they focused on other things, which led them to difficult situations, you know, death, honestly… So yeah, so I chose this path and never looked back," he added.
