Cape Town Spurs were left licking their wounds, suffering their seventh successive loss in the 2023/24 DStv Premiership campaign so far.

An early goal by striker Ashley Cupido set the tone for what was an entertaining DStv Premiership encounter, with half of the stadium packed with Spurs and City supporters.
Unfortunately for head coach Shaun Bartlett, the Urban Warriors failed to make the most of early their lead, with striker Darwin Gonzalez equalising from the spot just before the break, with Bafana Bafana's Khanyisa Mayo netting a brace, helping City secure maximum points in the derby.
It was only Cape Town City's third win of the season, seeing them move up to ninth place, while Cape Town Spurs remain rooted to the bottom of the table, yet to secure a point so far this season.
