Mamelodi Sundowns set a new record on Wednesday for the longest unbeaten run in the DStv Premiership as they came from behind to beat Stellenbosch 3-1 at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
Goals from Aubrey Modiba, Grant Kekana and youngster Siyabonga Mabena was enough see off a tough Stellies outfit, seeing downs accumulate 24 points in their first eight league games.
It was Sundowns' 32nd unbeaten match in the league, stretching back to September last year and the win beats the old mark of 31 league games without defeat set by Kaizer Chiefs in 2005.
Here's how readers reacted "Downs Breaks Chiefs Record To Maintain Winning Streak" story:
"Of course to be good, you've got to measure yourself with the best so it's not a surprise that they'll always be looking up to their predecessors which is Chiefs. Khosi 4 life," says userThautha.
"But Sundowns have set the record that won't be broken, including winning the Premiership title 6 times in a row," replies thulamda.
"At least we played with a footballing team in Stellies that doesn't only practice penalties and diving in their sessions," says pgyakeni.
"Score: Sundowns, 3 - Stellenboch, 1. How come? All were offside goals?" says bhekilekhuleni6.
"Sundowns will win the league in the first round of matches. Watch this space!!" says sikhubuzondl.
"You guys must accept that Downs is in a league of its own and the rest must play catch and very fast," says sakhilem9.
"Two goals were assisted by the ref. It's becoming a norm now for us to win with help from the refs, it's damaging our success. Just like how Man City are going to court for scandals, I think we the Yellow Nation will go soon for corruption," says Terror Fanteni.
"There was a delay in this match because the referee was still confirming his banking details with the top brass of the other team," says ghettovillage411.
"And the top brass also created the rain as well!!" replies Skyvodka.

Stellenbosch head coach Steve Barker has opened up on what doesn't sit right with him about Sibongiseni Mthethwa's recent transfer to Kaizer Chiefs.
"Ox", who made his debut on Wednesday night against Sekhukhune United, joined Amakhosi on a three-year deal after a release clause was triggered in his contract with Stellies.
Barker says he doesn't have an issue with Chiefs triggering the 29-year-old midfielder's buy-out clause, but it disappoints him that big teams make late signings from small clubs in the transfer window, which disrupts their plans.
The Stellies boss also bemoans how the transfer window stayed open for so long, suggesting that its unfair for big teams to poach from small teams after they make a bad start to the season.
Here's how the readers reacted to the "Barker's Disappointment About Mthethwa Deal To Chiefs" story:
"I feel sorry for some coaches, but the management has every right to accumulate money when it's necessary," says danmarbosika.
"He doesn't hold back whenever he's talking about Chiefs," says Shikabala.
"I feel for Coach Barker but on the other hand, the team had every right to reject Kaizer Chiefs' offer, citing those specific reasons," says Buti_Sammy.
"They triggered his release clause for goodness sake," says NickNaks.
