Speaking ahead of the Citizens' first UEFA Champions League match of the new campaign, a Group G encounter against FK Crvena Zvezda, the Spaniard spoke about some of his team's rivals.
"Everyone has to find something inside to want to get better, every player must go over their limits and feel that, otherwise it's difficult," he said, according to the Daily Mirror.
"We will have downs in the season… but to start the season that way and some teams are taking the distance now. But how strong is Arsenal?
"I saw their win at Goodison Park, they are exceptional. Liverpool again, their mentality is continuing there."
The former Barcelona boss was then asked about United by a journalist in the room, and started his response by letting out a small chuckle.
