Under Todd Boehly, the Blues have continuously spent large sums of money on player acquisitions, and apart from Moises Caicedo, no player has cost the west Londoners more than Enzo Fernandez since the American-led consortium took over the club.
The 22-year-old completed his move to the English capital in January for a then British-record transfer fee of €121 million (R2.4 billion) from Benfica following a sterling performance for Argentina at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
While his arrival was expected to be the catalyst for a Chelsea renaissance in 2023, the two-time European champions ended up suffering their worst Premier League finish in 29 years at the end of the 2022/23 campaign, ending in 12th place.

The Spanish publication claims that the 13-cap Albiceleste star could push for a move at the end of the season if things do not improve under his new coach and compatriot Mauricio Pochettino.

The pressure will, however, now be on Pochettino to produce results as the club is currently languishing in 12th position in the EPL yet again.
