Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has made an announcement on Kaizer Chiefs attacker Pule Mmodi, as he lamented injuries ahead of the national team's international friendlies against Namibia and DR Congo.
Mmodi has not taken time to settle into life at Amakhosi, scoring crucial goals in recent weeks to convince Broos to include him in the squad as a replacement for Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Themba Zwane, who is one of the players who have had to pull out of the team.

Mmodi was initially in the preliminary squad, but was left out of the final team before injuries came into play. TS Galaxy midfielder Mlungisi Mbunjana has been brought in to replace Sundowns midfielder Teboho Mokoena.
The team has been hit by seven withdrawals, which has forced Broos to make changes to the team, meaning he has a different team to the one which played against Morocco in June.
"It's a strange camp because we have seven injuries. (Khuliso) Mudau was injured, but he played last Saturday and we did not know that. (Bongukuhle) Hlongwane who is injured, Zwane is injured, (Thapelo) Maseko is injured, (Luke) Le Roux who is injured. (Thapelo) Morena who is injured, and we have (Teboho) Mokoena who is injured. I am not happy about that because these games are preparation for AFCON and (2026 FIFA World Cup) qualifiers in November. But that can happen. That means you have to change the team," Broos said during a press conference at FNB Stadium on Monday afternoon.

"There is a good side to this. We can call other players and we can give them playing time, because that's the aim of the friendly games. That means those who are here now will have playing time. To replace Mokoena, we called Mbunjana from TS Galaxy. (Sphephelo) Sithole and Pule Mmodi (have also been called up)."
