The Blues have confirmed Ecuador international Moises Caicedo's arrival at Stamford Bridge from Brighton Hove Albion, with the 21-year-old believed to have cost the two-time European champions £115 million (R2.7 billion) in total, plus a sell-on clause.

The announcement draws a close to what has been one of the more compelling transfer sagas in recent times as, after leading the race for Caicedo for practically the entire window, Liverpool came in with an offer of £110 million (R2.6 billion) late on.
Brighton accepted that offer from the Reds, but the Blues would increase their efforts to land the defensive midfielder's signature and outbid the Reds before finalising personal terms with the Santa Domingo native to make him the most expensive Chelsea player of all time.
He will likely be paired in the middle of the park with the person he takes that title from in Argentina's Enzo Fernandez.
