One of Al Ahly's attackers has made a damning claim about Pitso Mosimane's treatment of him during their time together in the Egyptian capital.

Hossam Hassan arrived at the home of the Red Devils from Smouha while the South African tactician was in charge in 2021, but under the ex-Mamelodi Sundowns head coach's tutelage, the Egypt international did not receive many opportunities to play from the first whistle of matches.
He started only one game under the 58-year-old, and that trend continued under present Ahly coach Marcel Koller, with Hassan subsequently being loaned back to Smouha.
However, he has insisted that it was under Mosimane that he suffered the most duress as a player for the Club of the Century.
"It's a great honour to play for Al Ahly," the forward said, according to KingFut.
"It was a lifelong dream of mine to join either Al Ahly or Zamalek, which I achieved when I moved to Al Ahly. I had a great ambition that I wanted to achieve with Al Ahly, but things didn't go well.
"With Pitso Mosimane, I was psychologically affected. I used to participate in the last minute of every match, and I entered the Pharco match in the last second, and I was almost in tears.
"He used to say in press conferences that the team lacked a striker and then he excludes me from the squad.
"I know that my level is much better than that, so I decided to go out on loan to play, shine, and come back to Al Ahly again, as I don't like to be in the role of an employee.
"I started the pre-season with Koller, who is an exceptional coach and laid the right foundation for the team. The coach's personality is what positively influenced the team this season.

"I want to return to Al Ahly next season to prove to the fans that I am a distinguished player, but no one has spoken to me yet. I believe I can be the league's top goalscorer next season with them."
